Modicon created the world's first programmable logic controller in 1968. In fact, in those early
days all PLC's were known as Modicons (Modular Digital Controllers).
Modicon PLC's have evolved in the last 40 years but are still used extensively for machine control in
manufacturing processes.
In 1996, Modicon was acquired by Schneider Automation and later became part of
Schneider Electric's
family of leading electrical brands. Today, Schneider continues to manufacture Modicon PLC's under
the
Telemecanique brand. Popular models available include Modicon
M340,
Quantum,
Momentum, and
Premium
PLC's.
Please visit our Telemecanique page for more information
